Áine is the Irish goddess of summer, wealth and sovereignty. The name means brightness, glow, joy, radiance; splendour, glory, fame. When we were looking through our Organic French Lavender Angel Collection we felt they reflected the qualities of "Áine" with their bright, glowing colours and luxuriously elegant and rich fabrics.
As we enjoy this summer month of June, we remember Áine, the daughter of sea god, Manannán mac Lir and will soon enjoy the Feast of Midsummer Night held in her honour. In more recent times, Áine is remembered in County Limerick as the Queen of the Faeries. Our lavender 'angels' are individually handcrafted by Skilled Craftwork in Ballinskelligs Ireland, an area rich in Irish history, culture and mythology and it seems appropriate to share these gloriously lushious beauties with you in celebration of the month where we remember the joyous, radiant Irish goddess, Áine.
Our lavender angel collection can be viewed on https://www.kearoncrafts.com/collections/special-gifts/products/lavender-angel-amber-beauty where they are individually displayed within our special gifts collection.
